Everything Apple Announced Today: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch Ultra, and More

The iPhone 14, one of several new devices launched by Apple on Wednesday, celebrates the 15th anniversary of the original iPhone. Apple’s newest products include the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, Watch Series 8, Watch Ultra, Watch SE, and AirPods Pro (2nd Generation). All of them will be up for preorder in the following weeks, with some shipping as early as September 16.

At WWDC in June, Apple unveiled 1OS 16, the newest iteration of the iPhone’s operating system, and at the “Far Out,” we got a look at some of its cool new features, such as Crash Detection, Always On display, and Dynamic Island.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus

The Plus model’s screen size increases from 6.1 inches to 6.7. They now have improved heat dissipation for the wearer’s head, a 1,200-nit HDR display with Dolby Vision support, and a new blue color option. They take after the Max in terms of battery life.

All of the cores in the brand-new A15 Bionic chip have been upgraded, making the device speedier overall. Apple improved the 12-megapixel main camera by increasing the size of the sensor to 1.9 microns and adding sensor shift optical image stabilization. Apple claims you’ll have more success, and save time, even in low light. The new TrueDepth camera improves both speed and accuracy of focus in dim lighting. Apple’s new Photonic Engine software is designed to improve image processing.

Because of the increased utilization of the entire sensor in action mode, digital picture stabilization for video is vastly enhanced.

True to speculation, the iPhone no longer supports physical SIM cards in the United States, opting instead to use electronic SIMs. In addition to its improved collision detection sensors, this model now features satellite-based emergency SOS for use when you’re far from civilization. The latter is without charge for a full two years.

Both the standard iPhone 14 and the Plus start at $799 (£849, AU$1,399) and $899 (£949, AU$1,579), respectively. The 14 will be available for preorder on September 9 and will ship on September 16; the Plus will be available for purchase on October 7.

iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max

The Super Retina XDR brings Pro Display-level pixel density and color accuracy to laptop screens. The “Dynamic Island” in the Pro’s new camera notch swells and shrinks in response to incoming messages and other pieces of information that you can interact with. A new Always On display may be used without excessively draining the battery thanks to improved brightness management and a range of refresh rate options.

When compared to its predecessor, the A15, the new 4nm A16 Bionic chip is both quicker and more efficient. The revised picture signal processing and new Display Engine within it bring similar improvements in photo quality to the entry-level devices.

Taking 12MP photos in low light is made easier with a 48MP sensor that supports pixel binning (4 pixels). New 2x telephoto and 48mm shooting modes, as well as ProRaw compatibility for 48 megapixels. Action Mode and 24fps video recording are also included.

Along with the standard silver and gold, they also come in space black and deep purple.

Prices for the Pro start at $999 (£1,099, AU$1,749), while the Pro Max costs $1,099 (£1,199, AU$1,899). Preorders may be placed beginning on September 9 and the devices will be shipped out on September 16.

Apple Watch Series 8

The features of the new line include the new watch faces, the always-on display, the larger display (due to the thinner bezels), and the improved durability. The additional features, which include a temperature sensor to estimate ovulation, allow for more accurate monitoring of the menstrual cycle.

Safety has also been improved with features like automatic crash notification to authorities and other predetermined contacts. Because of improved motion sensing with a new gyroscope and accelerometer.

A stated 36 hours of use time can be achieved by switching to low power mode and turning off features like the always-on display. All WatchOS 9-compatible mobile devices will soon be able to engage in international roaming.

Not to mention, some lovely new hues and bands.

Starting at just $399 (£419/AU$629), you get not only an Apple Watch but also three free months of Apple Fitness Plus. Preorders can be placed now for delivery on September 16. On Monday, September 12th, you’ll be able to purchase WatchOS 9.

Apple AirPods Pro

Apple claims that the H2 chip is an improvement over the H1 processor, thanks to updated drivers and processing that allows for greater visual fidelity. Enhancements to active noise cancellation, passive noise reduction, and mic noise cancellation, as well as a new customization option for improved spatial audio. When dealing with extremely loud noises, adaptive transparency will perform better.

You may listen for up to six hours with only the earbuds, and the case can hold a charge for up to thirty. Adding Qi charging support means it can be charged using wireless technology.

They may be preordered on September 16 for $249 (£249, AU$399) and will begin shipping on September 23.
