The Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, one of the country’s financial regulatory bodies, has given authorization for the Swedish branch of cryptocurrency exchange Binance to handle and trade digital currencies.
Binance stated in a release made on January 11 that the FSA awarded Binance Nordics AB’s registration status on January 10. This came after “months of productive dialogue” between the financial regulator and Binance Nordics AB. Because of this judgment, Swedish citizens now have access to the cryptocurrency services provided by Binance.

Following in the footsteps of authorities in France, Bahrain, Spain, and Dubai who granted similar authorization for Binance in 2022, the financial authority in Sweden came to its conclusion. Authorities in certain countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Japan, have already clamped down on the activities of the exchange, issuing warnings to potential investors about the hazards surrounding digital assets.
A preliminary agreement permitting Binance.US to acquire more than one billion dollars worth of assets from Voyager Digital, which filed for bankruptcy in July, was granted approval by a court in the United States on January 10. Prior to Voyager’s company going bankrupt in November, FTX had planned to acquire its assets, but now those assets are available for purchase once more.
